Chairman

Some news that affects you all!  We have got our team photo on Wednesday 1st December 2004 (This Wednesday) at 1.20pm in LRV (dance floor)!  The dress code for the team photo is shorts and SUAC vest (like last year).  If you still don’t have a vest, you can either borrow one for the photo or it may be an ideal time to buy one (N.B. Could everyone who has a vest please bring it).  As the team photos are all happening for all 66 clubs, LRV will be taken up throughout the day and won’t be available for circuit training.  However, I have arranged for us to have the sports hall in Sir Stanley Matthews sports centre at the usual time.  Finally, there may be another ABC Night in February!!!! If there is, we have got to make it as fun as the last one!

Have fun,

Richard Kay

One more Staffs league fixture to go,and things bode suprisingly well! Following our slow start to this season, we have battled our way up to 5th place in the Men's league, with 4th & 3rd places being posible if things go our way. I'd like to finish the season on a high, so anyone with ANY interest in running, please contact me via SMS (07816 832144) or email (c.taylor@suac.co.uk) and I'll whack you on the team sheet. Also, the bigest XC fixture is now being arranged, the BUSAs! A sheet will be going up on the notice board soon, and we will be taking deposits in the next 2 weeks (£20 approx, more details to come). Please remmeber, this event is only open to CLUB MEMBERS!!! Sign up ASAP, please, please, PLEASE! Save what little hair I've got left. Also, as I said last week, if you have borrowed a vest and not returned it, please contact me.

Hope your training & studies are all going well,

Kind Regards,

The last fixture of the north staffs league is sat 4th December at leek, a 'great' course... well its challenging.hehe. We're hoping for a good turn out at this last race. If your interested in running let me or craig know monday at running club or Wednesday at circuits and we'll give you further details i.e what time were

Men’s Track & Field

Hope all you athletes are going well.  Just want to inform
you of the quality events that are looming close.  The
first track & field meeting that the club has got scheduled
is for saturday the 11th of December at Sheffields indoor
track, this will be an ideal opportunity for those
non-distance performers to prove their form for the
inaugrial BUSA indoor championships next year, although it
will also be great preparation/experience for the current
crop of cross country runners who have got aspirations to
compete in the BUSA event that will also be at Sheffield.
For the BUSA indoor championships there is a maximum of two
runners in each event, so it is expected that most
events/disciplines shall be hottly contested, especially
the clubs blue riband events of the 800, 1500 & 3k.  The
BUSA indoor championships is open to all athletes and is
likely to be an unforgettable experience, however those who
think this is a chance of a jolly need not apply as
celebrations (alcohol) will have to wait until after the
weekend.  That includes me as well unfortunately!

The events on offer include: 60m, 300/400m, 1500m, 3000m
Walk, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot, Pole
Vault, Triple Jump (Under 17 & 15).
All competitors should have two races in 60m and 60m H.
Four trials in LJ, TJ & Shot.
Age Groups: Men and Women <EN DASH> Senior / Junior, Under 17 / Under 15. Track & Field
age groups as at 31 August 2005. A call room system will be operated. ENTRY FEE: £3 for the first event entered and £2 for each subsequent event. Full details of this open meet shall be
made available in the next week.
PS due to the clubs transport budget, free transport shall
only be available to competing individuals.  Further
details to follow.
Don't hesitate to contact either myself or Jo regarding
these events.

Keep up the good work Staffs
