Chairman

Hi, and welcome to the first e-newsletter.  The e-newsletter is designed to give the committee the opportunity to give out any news or information to the members and also to cut down on the amount of e-mails sent during the week from committee members.  A copy of this e-mail can also be viewed on the noticeboard.

The next committee meeting is sometime during the last week (TBC) of this semester before Christmas.  If any member wants a certain issue or suggestion brought up during this meeting then e-mail it to me.

Next, MEMBERSHIP IS DUE ON 10TH DEC!!!!!!!!!.  Any athletes who haven't signed up by this date won't be able to compete in any competitions for the club (including BUSA's) and will have to pay at Circuit Training.  Membership can be paid at Circuit Training on Wednesday's at 5pm or contact any of the captains for an alternative payment method.  Could you all also try to encourage as many people to join as if we don't reach our membership target then our budget is greatly reduced (meaning increased costs for such things as BUSA transport).

Finally, I have booked us in for a team photo on Wednesday 1st December at 1.20pm.  I presume it is at the same venue as last year (LRV) but will update you all on this.

Keep training,

Richard Kay

Men’s Cross-Country Captain

So far this season, Men's Cross Country has been a considerable
success! In our first year back in the first division of the North
Staffordshire Cross Country League, we have safely placed ourselves out
of the relegation zone, and put ourself in a position to attack third
(with a decent turnout)! We have introduced new runners to the sport,
given 'old hands' a chance to compete & even 'alf-inched athletes from
other clubs to compete for us (Thanks Mr Chesney)...

I am really looking forward to seeing calibre of squad we can put
together for the premier University Cross Country competition,
specifically the BUSA championship. If we can get a better performance
than last year, it would be a massive feat. This competition is always
an enjoyable event & trip, and with it being in a big city this year th
night after should be top-drawer stuff. This trip is open to any
competing member. Please note I said 'member'! We are desperatly asking
for anyone who is planning to join, to do so ASAP. If we dont get our
membership fees in soon, we will get or funding cut, thus making all
three BUSA events less subsidised, less fun & less likely. It will also
put paid to the idea of any social trips, as these all cost! Please,
please, PLEASE get your dues in as soon as possible, preferably at this
weeks coming circuits.

Also, could anyone who has taken a vest off myself at a fixture & not
paid for it please contact me so that we can arrange its return. Some
are missing & it would save me a lot of work trawling the team-sheets
to determine who has the said vests.

Keep up the training peeps, the snow will be over soon (I hope)!
Kind Regards,
Craig Taylor (Men's XC)
